Meet the Team
Leah Colburn, CMHC
Hello, I am Leah. Thank you for stopping by!
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience working with children, families, and adults across all the journeys life may bring their way. At the heart of my work, I focus on helping individuals find what brings them joy and fulfillment. While therapy is a key part of this, I firmly believe that the work a person does outside of sessions is just as important as the work that happens with me. Drawing from my background in Recreation Therapy, building social, community, and leisure-based opportunities that fit you as an individual is just as vital as reconnecting with yourself.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Maternal & Paternal Perinatal Mental Health, Trauma Informed Care, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Disaster Behavioral Health.
I am a Utah DOPL Approved Supervisor for mental health professionals. I hold specialized training in Components of Enhancing Career Experience and Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT) a model to support the well-being of behavioral health clinicians, as well as Trauma Informed Clinical Supervision.
Throughout my professional career, I have engaged in extensive work with workplace wellness initiatives, including behavioral health wellness programs and workplace self-care training. I have worked across the state to build and sustain school-based behavioral health programs in partnership with community providers and local school districts. This broad statewide work equips me to provide dedicated advocacy for families needing support with their child's school, while mentoring providers in delivering high-quality, school-based care.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my family, exploring Utah’s outdoors (skiing, camping, hiking), hosting theme parties, discovering new vacation destinations, or glued to a great bingeable show.
Stella, therapy dog in training
Hello, I’m Stella!
I am currently in training to become a therapy dog. I lead with my heart and love bringing comfort to every person I meet. You can often find me sitting right at Leah’s feet or resting behind her chair.
When I’m not relaxing, I enjoy lying in the sun and patiently waiting to make friends with the wildlife in my backyard.
